How does an AI actually learn from its mistakes?

Linear regression — drawing the best-fit line through data — is one of the most widely used AI algorithms. It's a linear equation. Kids who can solve for x in 2x + 3 = 11 are one step away from understanding how AI predicts house prices, temperatures, and stock trends.

AI models combine multiple probability signals to make a decision — "there's a 0.7 chance it's a cat AND a 0.8 chance it's fluffy." Compound probability is exactly this: the math behind AI decisions that weigh multiple factors at once.

If you train an AI on biased samples, you get a biased AI. This is one of the biggest unsolved problems in AI today — and it's fundamentally a statistics problem. Grade 7 sampling is directly relevant to AI ethics and fairness.
